Oh! How time flies when you are having fun! I cannot believe we have passed the half-year mark and here I am, typing the July newsletter when we are steadily approaching August already!

However, better late than never, and do we have news for you! We have had an extremely busy winter here in Saldanha bay, with all the oilrigs passing through from all over the world. Now, we start shaking off the winter chills as we begin to welcome the beautiful flowers popping up all around us. It is that time of the year when the West Coast and Namakwaland puts on a flower show for the rest of the world in fields of white, orange, purple and pink. So for those who have been threatening for years to take the time off and to drive along the R27 to come and behold nature's beauty, now is the time.

For those who are starting to think about end of year functions, this year we would like to find out what you and you company would prefer. We can do anything from sit down dinners, to wine tasting, to potjiekos competitions, depending on the feel and the nature of your business and the best thing is, we are only 120km from Cape Town and makes it the perfect getaway for corporate groups. In other West Coast news, we have the Long Acres farmer's market on Saturday 30 July in Langebaan and the Dutch Reformed Church of Saldanha will be having their annual wine auction at the Lodge on Friday 29 July from 19:00. The cost will be R120.00 per person and this includes a 3-course meal carefully prepared by our brilliant chefs from Blue Bay Café.
